The Pacific Northwest is one of the most vibrant marine ecosystems.
The currents that flow along the shores allow for kelp to flourish and provide protection for the life that lives beneath it. Basket Stars can be found in rocky intertidal areas with fast currents, feeding off organisms that travel through the tides.
The Basket Star is the white multi-armed organism shown in this photo by Scott Stevenson.
